National Voter Registration Day!

Today is National Voter Registration Day! If you or any of your friends in Cambridge are not registered to vote, then today's the day to make that happen. Adriane and her campaign will be organizing a voter outreach drive today - so stay tuned and get in touch if you'd like to participate.

National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday celebrating our democracy. It was first observed in 2012 and has been growing in popularity every year since. Held on the fourth Tuesday of September, National Voter Registration Day will be observed on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017.

Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. National Voter Registration Day wants to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote. On Tuesday September 26, 2017 volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” in a single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.

Candidate Forum on Smart Growth Policies

One of the first major Cambridge City Council Candidate Forums will be held next Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30pm at the Broad Institute, 415 Main Street in Kendall Square. It will be hosted by A Better Cambridge, which promotes a smart growth approach to development and is part of the national YIMBY (Yes-in-My-Backyard) movement -- both of which I support.

As a city councilor, I will fight to ensure that everyone in our city has access to economic opportunity, and that our focus and funding is spent on the areas that need it most. As wonky as it sounds, we need to update our zoning regulations to ensure that our city grows in a more just and equitable way.

Hope to see you there, and to earn your #1 vote on November 7!

Labor Day BBQ w/ Neighbors

My husband Brian and I have lived in Cambridge for nearly 10 years. Recently we moved to North Cambridge (from the other side of Porter Square). We’d love to celebrate Labor Day with you at our backyard BBQ! We’ll have grillables, and some sides and drinks. Please feel free to add to the feast. Kids, of course, are welcome.
